To duck or not Duck...Pics inside

So picked up a fiberglass ducktail this afternoon and trying to decide how it looks on my widebody.
I think I like it enough to sell the turbo wing...

Any thoughts?

Could not believe how heavy that turbo wing was when I took it off.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1196206551.jpg

Just Duck it and lose the weight.

Obviously, it's all a matter of personal opinion. So, if you like the new tail, ROCK THE DUCK! I personally like the bigger wing. I think it is a better balance with the widebody. To me, ducks look better on the narrow cars. But again, it's your car. Do what makes you happy. It's still a 911!

I use both, the duck tail for track events 35lb lighter and the whale tail for normal driving.
I have driven both and you can tell the difference at the track with the loss of weight

BTW nice looker..........

the tail looks fine
but the wheels look small in the wheel wells
is that just how they look in the picture?

Scooter 11-27-2007 03:17 PM

Keep both.

oldschoollear 11-27-2007 03:18 PM

Duck tail, +1 on the tires looking small.

911Rob 11-27-2007 03:21 PM

Quack, Quack.
Change is good, go 4 it!

frogger 11-27-2007 03:30 PM

The duck is fine, but the tiny wheels/tires look funky.

mkaraoglan 11-27-2007 03:38 PM

quack+1

matt4hand 11-27-2007 05:16 PM

For some reason when I resized the pics it made the tires look funny ?

keez 11-27-2007 05:17 PM

+1 on the wheels/tires not filling up the fender well. What sizes are you running?

Porsche-O-Phile 11-27-2007 05:23 PM

Turbo tail.

Jays72T 11-27-2007 05:32 PM

Turbo tail.

Joe Bob 11-27-2007 06:24 PM

Sold mine (turbo tail)...never looked back except to admire the duck.

So DUCK IT!!!

matt4hand 11-27-2007 06:31 PM

Better pics of wheels and tires

Keep both. I have two lids and run both. Try each on the track and see what works best for ya. But I have to admit, Jack O's BBII looks my-t-fine with a duck.

I Like the Duck!!!

I put a duck on my 79 930

I think it looks great.
But I think everything needs to match.
Hence, I went with the IROC/RSR bumpers and Fuchs.
The C2 Turbo wheels look really great on 964.
I'm not to sure on the earlier 911's....IMHO.

If you have the storage space, and do not need the cash....store the original tail.

Great looking widebody

If you keep the wheels and look - I would keep the turbo tail

If you go with the duck tail - buy some 16 or 17 Fuchs/Replica Fuchs with red center and add red "carrera" script on the sides

Here is a pic of a narrow one just to give you an idea

I personnally do not like whale tails. I would duck it or run without a tail. I love wide bodies w/o.
Wheels look.... good fuchs look better.....17" Rotas are fly!
