911SC owners only....Read: "If you aren't a SC owner you can't come in here"........
Read no further please if you are not the owner of a 911SC. thank you.... I MEAN IT....OUT WITH YOU STUPID E,S,T, CARRERA TYPES!!! Ok,...now that we are alone I would like to propose a toast to my comrades, SC owners. Ahem,... "We all know that SC owners are somehow superior to all other 911 owners... we know that our cars are somehow superior to other 911s... and every single one of us KNOWS that we have the strength, numbers, dedication and the superior brain power needed to take over the world and rule the universe uncontested." Now that we have set the landscape for our eventual takeover of all life as we know it, I would like to hear some of your thoughts about how this plan should be carried out. I suggest we start by underminding the very base that on which this very Bulliten board is sustained. Gentlemen, we need to convince Warren to buy a 911SC. This will not be an easy task as he has been brain washed into believing that his first generation 911 is somehow superior to our god-like machines for almost 30 years. Second, we must recruit Jack O. to the dark side. He is a writter for some network and if he is brought into our movement, he can very easily start to undermind the ENTIRE population of the US. by slipping slight hints about 911SC superiority into shows like Letterman, Dateline and Spin City. And finally we will need an infulltrator to go under cover and get into and v-e-w-y close to Wayne at Pelican Parts. This way over time we can slowly begin to delete parts for "other" 911's on this web site, completely cutting off other 911 owners means of survival. Of course this is just a brief overview of my "World Domination Plot" <---spoken in true Dr. Evil tounge. Any questions, comments may be summitted in triplicate to the address below. Thank you all for your time. Sincerly, Dr. Leland <---also pronounced in true Dr. Evil tounge. Please write to: 911SC owner world domination plot 145 North 15th East st. Suite #911 OKC, OK. 43652 |
Leland,
I think the heat exchangers are broken on your SC. You're under the influence of something noxious. JPerry 85 Carrera - uh oh 68 912 - double uh oh [This message has been edited by jperry (edited 02-22-2001).] [This message has been edited by jperry (edited 02-22-2001).] |
AGGKKKK!!!
You don't own a SC!!! Can't you follow instructions??? jperry, you are the first on my list to be "eliminated"... http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/biggrin.gif |
WHy did you have to go and do that? Now EVERYBODY will want an SC. I wanted to keep it secret how great our Machines are. Ah well, that cat is outta the bag.
I must say though, you have a little too much spare time on your hands. Maybe that is because the SC rarely ever needs any work and you can't spent all your time repairing something that isn't broke (unlike the 1st gen owners). HEhe, I'm sure someone will take offence to this so I'm anticipating some good rebuttles. ADam Roseneck ------------------ 1978 911SC 3.0 roseneck@cyberbeach.net |
We must also convert Old Skul to our regieme (how do you speel that?).
Old skul can be our "enforcer". He can take people to "sleep wid da fishes" if they refuse to convert! |
BRUCE ANDERSON OBVIOUSLY AGREES
:http://www.pcapotomac.org/Features/Buy_a_Porsche/911SC/911sc.asp "The 911 is considered to be "the classic Porsche model", and one of the better 911s was the 1978-1983 911SC model. A great deal happened between the early 911s and the 911SC. The cars have grown up, they are more luxurious and much more reliable than the earlier models. The 911SC is definitely one of my favorite Porsches" Sounds like a ringing endorsement from one of the leading authorities on PORSCHE!!!!!!! ------------------ Bob 1982 911SC Targa PCA - Founders Region |

Leyland, Is this just for SC's that are broken down,in bits or waiting for enough cash to afford repairs or can the serviceable one[s] join in as well.
Since mine isn't an SC, I guess I'll just wait for the pyrotechnics!!! Bob |

all great secret organizations have 'special handshakes' or similar means of acknowledging those who are in. therefore, i propose that all SC owners give each other TWO flashes instead of the regular porsche owner's one flash. promote the flash^2! cheers, ------------------ Jeff Euro '78 911SC Targa |

- Shall we make special allowances for those SC Wannabes who attach SC flares to, and install 3.0 engines in their 1st generation P-cars? http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif - By the same token, we need to take action against those miscreants who install 964 bumpers, valances and rear decks to their otherwise perfect SCs! http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/tongue.gif Chuck 83SC |
OK. I guess I should sell my Carrera with 242,000 miles and buy something more "reliable". Doh! JPerry 85 Carrera 68 912 |

Bob, you're on my list too...
And if you must know... the whole snapped head stud story was just a cover up...my engine is in fine mechanical condition. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/wink.gif My accociates and myself are willing to hold international talks with turbo owners to come to some sort of agreement. The talks should go fine with the only problem being the constant "Lag" from the turbo group. Disclaimer: The SC Owners World Domination Plot known as (SCOWDP) pronounced "scowdp" is not responsible for any instances of non-SC owners syndrome. AKA NonSCowneritis that may be a result of parties showing interest or want for a SC that simply cannot bring themselves to betraying their federation of misadjusted carbed, non galvanized bodied, head stud pulling, and/or valve guide killing, DME-dead, motor cars. resistance is futile. ...............................I really miss my car |

Hey Leland - shouldn't you AT LEAST have a RUNNING SC to be in here ?
Tom Sharpes 90 SC2 hehehe |
Yes Leland, your turbo lag joke was good. To answer a question posed in a previous reply, SC stands for SUPER CARRERA. Ahhh yeah, thats right, SUPER.
I think that that is all that needs to be said. Adam Roseneck ------------------ 1978 911SC 3.0 roseneck@cyberbeach.net |
Your plot is well conceived, but poorly executed. Reference www.TheSith.com / sith 101 to learn what NOT to do in such an attempt.
Do SC's with all aluminum 5.7L LS-1 motors count? They do weigh 60 pounds LESS than a 3.0 and have more than twice the power... I mean, hey, if we are gonna be evil, be EVIL for Petes sake… :P |

SUPER. I second Adam's post above.
I say we hit the Carreras where it hurts. We'll sneak into their garages and snip the filaments out of their girly little air flow meters. Then we'll steal the fuses from their o2 sensor preheaters. They'll spend weeks trying to figure out why their cars won't run. In the mean time, we can take charge of all the OPEC countries and have the world in the palm of our hands. As for those guys with the earlier cars, well, they dont run anyway. Although Warren could be a force to be reckoned with. A one man force, kinda like Charlton Heston in Omega Man. I think the powers of the man of steel could hold him off long enough for us to make our move. Nick. ------------------ _ ______ _ Nick Shumaker 1982 911SC Coupe |
SC stands for Super Costly, as in "tensioner failure". JPerry 85 Carerra 68 912 |
Leland,
I have taken control of New Zealand, all sheep have been issues with SC's and I am proposing to launch a full attack on Australia once the sheep have reached a suitable level of competency. Training is progressing slowly due to the modifications required (their legs are too short and they have no hands). Even Bruce Anderson's book seems to have overlooked these difficulties. Any advice will be gratefully accepted. Neil 81SC SC = Super Cool, Super Car, Sexy Car etc |
All right here's the deal:
SC doesnt stand for super carrera, although that is close . Not Super Car , although that is true . Not sexy car ,although with those hips( check it out from behind)it certainly is . Ready? The factory guys thought this car was so great, advanced, refined, and significant that the engineers and drivers determined it needed a special designation.... (Remember all you 84 + car guys.... Carrera was only to be used for special models) They loved the speed and handling qualities of the "S"....... hence S in remembrance of the "S" and "C" for Carrera ( race in Italian)for a very special auto. Unfortunately the marketing dweebs went and spoiled everythingand all the heritage associated with Carrera in the past (including the SC) and used the the Carrera monikor for the 84-89 in hopes of atracting the gold chain crowd, which they did and continue to! Whereas the engineers, the actual guys who designed, built and tested the fabulous 911SC, named the SC. Now beat it out of our thread! Show me your old tensioners or scram! ------------------ Bob 1982 911SC Targa PCA - Founders Region [This message has been edited by ras911 (edited 02-22-2001).] |
I think I'll make bookends out of my old tensioners, or maybe a paperweight, or how 'bout.....nah! forget it.

Will I be spared???
I have a 914 with the heart of an 82 CIS SC Motor. However, it does not have true SC blood. It has been tainted by the dark side with a SS air box and Carrera Tensioners Please spare me, I will try not to be pass another omnipotent 911 SC on the track again, I promise. |

I must confess, I don't plan on leaving my SC stock. I know, I know, Perhaps i'm no longer allowed in the club, but in order to show those punks the potential of the "simple" SC engine, I am creating the weapon of ultimate destruction.... Erhm, so does this mean I'll have to replace my 231 hp Carrera with one of those ALL WONDERFUL http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/confused.gif SCs with 180 gas guzzling ponies (NOT)? Hah... You fools don't realise what you're up against:
Hydraulic tensioners, better fuel economy, better torque, more horsies, stable idling and no blown airboxes http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/tongue.gif |
It's about time we SC owners get some respect! Sometimes I feel like the Bastard stepchild of the 911.Yea, we don't have those cool looking carbs like the 2.4's or the fancy electronic injection like the 3.2's BUT we have more power the the 2.4's and better reliability the the 3.2 ( I'm getting over 400 miles per tank of gas ) and he last time I ran against an 84 I ate his lunch!!!.. You SC hypocrites with Carrera tensioners should be ashamed of yourselves. I no longer have any sympathy for you SC guys losing sleep at night, hoping the air box doesn't blow tommorow when you crank it up.
I'll just wake up with a smile and enjoy my Motronic chariot with the silky smooth G50. I unfortunately have to refrain from the 915 bashing since some of my fellow brethren must endure that same hardship. Another one infiltrates the SC stronghold! Call in reinforcements Leland, Your paltry DO NOT ENTER sign isn't cutting it. No hard feelings, really. All 911 types are a special breed.
