Measuring rim width Fuchs
Hi another question. How do you take the measurement for a rim? Is it from the inside of the lip to the inside? Or outside to outside?
With the Fuch rims is there not a number stamped on the inside of the rim indicating size? Thanks Again guys |
Fuchs do in fact have a number stamped on them. Bruce Anderson's book has a table showing these numbers, size and offset. If you post the numbers here I can look them up for you.

The number will be stamped on Fuchs wheels.
That is the definitive answer. I can't tell you how many times people have thought they had eights (or at least they claimed that they thought they did, usually when they are selling), based on their "measurements." |
Inside it inside will get you close enough to the nearest known wheel size.

Thanks I will look for these numbers, are they easy to spot? where are they on the spokes or lip?

Shawn,
The part number and width, i.e. 7J x 15 ... are on the backside of the spokes, and you may have to clean off the brake dust/road grime to see them clearly! ------------------ Warren Hall 1973 911S Targa |
They're on the back side of the wheel on the inside of a spoke - my 8x16's are marked 8JX16
