77 Heater Back date
I'm thinking about removing doing a Heater Back date on my 77 2.7l. Any thoughts positive or negative that I should consider. The obvious positive is it cleans up the engine box. Is all I need to complete this the Left and Right Heater ducts?

I did it a couple months ago.....what a difference!
A few observations: 1. The main advantage is (as you say) cleaning up the engine bay. 2. My Heat is just as strong as when I had the blower hooked up. 3. Left side is a bit of a PITA to install due to having to work around the dizzy 4. All you need is the left and right piece. All in all, well worth the effort. Good luck. Sean

ABSOLUTELY!
The OE ’77 exhaust (Thermo Reactors) is an engine killer. Way too high temperatures. The best solution is the ’74 (and earlier) exhaust. You can use OE/OEM heat exchangers or SSI (better). You will need to change the exhaust studs in the heads. Your ’77 muffler will work OK. Another important mod is to change the fan to the 11-lade type running 1.82:1 fan:crank ratio. Best, Grady
