What are the differences in air boxes?
I have an old air box and need to know how to tell the difference.
I understand that 75 to 77 and 80 to 83 air boxes are the same and 78 & 79 are different. In asking this I bet the difference is in the runner size? Can anyone tell me for sure? Thanks LM |

Given you are talking about US engine airboxes, that's true. The 78 and 79 have larger runners.
But the RoW airboxes are the same, 78 - 83, that is. large runners.

I recall that the later SC models also had the the fuel manifold inside to more efficently distribute fuel from the cold start injector. Not sure if this only appeared in both US and ROW models. Jim might know the answer.
