Rear Center Reflector Paint Over pics?

Anyone have pics of an SC or Carrera with the center reflector painted over or replaced with a blank painted to match?
I would prefer to see something with stock tail lights and bumpers.
And an extra bonus if it's GP White.

Don't you dare paint over your center reflector!!! Yours is worht a bit of money. Don't ruin it or I may have to relieve you of your rims!

derek
don't paint it! use vinyl material (as sign makers have) so you can put a black porsche lettering on white background. should give it an iroc RSR feel

There is a picture of a white Ruf widebody with a painted center reflector on this earlier thread.

Substitute panel for center rear reflector

Mike, I was just looking for the pics I took of yours to post. Granted, yours isn't white. I think this looks good on just about every color except red.

I saw that a while back "widebody911" made a few glass blank panels. Anybody doing that now? Availability?

I just finished reading the WHOLE 12 pages of the thread where Thom Fitzpatrick made these. I think he has a couple of CF versions left that you can buy from his site.

Here's where he had them FS: http://rennlight.com/ I don't see them listed, however.

The brotherhood have spoken....

Derek, your car is looking great! Love the new rims... I am trying to find a picture of my favorite white car with the reflector removed and the area slightly modded. It is what I want to do to mine. I will try to find it and post it here in a minute...

I know! I love that car, and he just sold it!!!

The vents are an interesting idea, I just want to be a bit more subtle than having PORSCHE blazing across the back. Yes, I get it. It's a Porsche.

Try Vinyl. You are lucky you have a white car, any white vinyl should match GPwhite. Its a little harder to find signal/speed/whatever the hell yellow.

If you don't like it, peel it off.

I have a black widebody and have the reflector painted black to match the body, similar to the grey Ruf in the above pictures, except the square reflector panels towards the outside of the reflector are not painted. In the center of the panel, I added a small Porsche crest that our host sells to be used in the center of 930 steering wheel. Looks like the hood crest, but is smaller and proportional to the size of the reflector.

I'm at work right now, but I'll see if I can come up with a photo to post the next time I use the computer at home. It's purely personal taste, but I'm happy with the way it looks.

BTW, the reflector was far from pristine when I modified it. I am certainly not recommend that anybody paint a reflector that is in great condition, as those things are ridiculously expensive nowadays.

I painted mine - just add some flex agent to the paint. Mine was pristine and perfect (guess I am the devil)

Looks much better - I didn't paint the outter reflectors on mine either - breaks it up more - fully painted is to much, fully reflective is too much (along with the 80's era Porsche lettering) so this is just right - I'll post a pic

Don't worry about what other people think - it is your car - do what you want.

I think using a black film like i did could look super mean on a white car . . .

you could do just the center but the whole band would like sweet and you can take it off later with no damage to lights/ reflector later . . .

just a thought!
