Post That's 5 more incompetency points pour moi

I must have failed to mount the heater pipe that goes on the exhaust properly, 'cause it's gone.
It's the part that joins the exhaust in a U but has a portion that goes up into the black heater port in the engine.

My question is, with this gone, are there any other problems besides not having a heater? I can see where this is joined up to the cooling fan/alternator a bit--IOW it seems like the air could be rerouted back onto the engine for additional cooling, but I don't know how it all works (or it might just be for the heater and nothing more.)

Just wondering...before I go and replace it.
DON'T even ask how it came off cause I haven't a clue--I'm just sure glad it's very light aluminum, and I hope no one on the LA freeways f'ed up their car running over it amid all the other trash I see on the freeways.
Damnit.
