Darth Vader's Helmet

After a couple of months I got my project car back from the paint shop on Friday. Being very exited about this, send my GF some pictures and she said it looks more like Darth Vader's helmet than a Porsche. The car was painted by Hot Wheels Import Collision in Atlanta on Rattlesnake's recommendation. They did an outstanding job and the pictures don't do the car justice.

I have the following 3 weeks vacation and need to complete the car. Started off today by spraying the wheel wells with Wurth SKS Stoneguard and assembling the front sway bar. The is reverse masking was a PITA. I will complete the front fenders tomorrow and start with the wiring in the engine compartment while the Stoneguard is drying

DV's helmet.

Very nice. Looks like glass. I hope to do this someday with my car, but getting a 3-week break would take a miracle.

How do you move car to/from body shop in its' current configuration?

I had it hauled on a flatbed tow truck on the dolly. Tied it down real well.

That is the blackiest thing I ever saw. Beautiful!

How much does such a quality paint job set you back? Must be painfully expensive.

looks awsome! too bad so much of the inside stuff won't bee seen once assembled. please don't rush to get it done in 3 weeks, it won't happen and something will be compromised. take your time and do it right.

Gert....

I remember when 1st posted up after purchasing that car... didn't follow the thread but wow!.. Very nice... now going through the previous thread just makes me down right jealous..

Dude, you have spent the time really turning this baby into something. Glad to see threads like this to help me keep my azz in gear on keeping my projects moving!

Glad to see also that Rattlesnake's recommendation on Hot Wheels Import Collision worked out for you too. I've got a buddy in ATL that has been recommended to use them as well for the upgrades on his widebody!

I get down that way from time to time and at some point would like to meet-up with some of the ATL Pelicans.. get my bud tapped-in since he's kind-of-newbie to the Porsche fold.

Hell, I keep trying to tell him that Porsche & Pelicans are like "BayBae's kids, they don't die.. they multiply."

Good luck and keep the pics coming..

Paul
