take 4 old tires, call to some company wich has flatbed treiler for rent. Call do your 3 friends do help you. Then but 4 tires on flatbed, lift up the body and thats it. It weighs not that much, 200-250kg??

You will have an excellent T. What are you doing with the engine? I would recommend the electromotive crank fire ignition system. I have it on my 2.0 (bored to 2.2), and it revs up like a Ducati Sport Bike engine now. Much better than a distributor and points for sure.

Here's a question. All that shrink wrap on the body looks great - especially to prevent the inevitable chips that happen from clutzes like me. But, I seem to recall after one of my cars was painted, they warned me not to cover it for some period of time. I don't know if that was because it had to breath, or because the paint was not fully hardened and that the cover's grain could make imprints in the paint.
P.S. I am in awe of your work. Please, please keep the pictures coming. I restored a Sunbeam Alpine that I've owned for 30 years to this level, but perhaps not to this quality! |

Congratulations on doing a totally awsome job in restoring the car. I, like many others here, am super impressed. You may be lucky in terms of having places to do coating and plating in your area. I know here in southern California, it is difficult to even find a place to get chrome & other types of plating done. They have almost been totally eliminated for environmental reasons. You are doing it they way it's supposed to be done and my hat is off to you. |
I'd have to back up what Jay has said. New paint needs to breathe. Use a cotton sheet or paper instead to cover up the new paint.

*awesome* project! An olive green '72 longhood will be gorgeous, and I imagine, quite rare in Estonia. :D And yes...TAKE THE SHRINKWRAP OFF or your new paint might be ruined!

thank you for the advice, i will remove it tommorow.
Today i was able to install handbrake system and pedalbox. Friday i should recive some parts from powder coating and start with busy weekend. Deadline is 1th of May, it is going to be tight. Can someone tell me , what do to with wheels? Right now they look as they are under some paint or lacquer. Should i strip them and polish? Any other ideas? Actually it takes 30% time to take all the parts do sandblasting, powder coating, painting, zinc coating, engine shop, interior shop. So it means night time is garage time. Thank you all supporting this project. |

Wow, what a project! And lightning speed! This is really cool to watch - I kept seeing the progress and looking at the post date and being amazed! It gives me a little more confidence - tomorrow I'm dropping my engine for the first time ever, to rebuild the transmission.
I can't wait to see this finished - it'll be basically a brand new 72! :D |

Hi again, it has been many emails with german company who had lost some parts (main bearings) so engine shop is waiting. Car is at the moment in interior shop.
I will take it back on thursday and start testing electrics, and installing rest of the parts. When i get the engione and gearbox back it should be ready to go. Everything is covered with real leather, carpet is also custom made. There will also be sound isolation inside and also in engine compartment. Headliner come out also good. Deadline in may will probably be delayed. |
Today it took me 7 hours to wash, clean, paint and rebuild brake calipers.
