Seat Belt Replacement Source?

The drivers side front seat belt in my SC is getting pretty frayed, I'm a little concerned about it and am looking for a replacement. I remember seeing an ad in excellence or panorama advertising colored replacements a while back. I'm looking for red or silver. Anyone know a source for these? I would take black if I had to.
Thanks.

You can always get them from our host (click here). For my early car, I was able to source a replacement from www.peparts.com but I do not know if they supply belts for later cars.

I don't know if peparts does custom webbing, but their service and knowledge are outstanding.

There's a place in Phoenix called AmSafe that rewebs aircraft seatbelts, maybe they could do yours or point you in the right direction.

You can use the replacement belts for a Jetta. I bought a set of replacements, and they worked very well for my 81 sc. I wanted to keep my factory Porsche receivers, so I swapped the ends of the new belts with my old ones. Very easy.

Jon,

When you say "ends" what do you mean? Did you have to undo and then restitch the nylon webbing?

What year Jetta did you use?

Were the belts any longer than your originals?

Paul,

Yes, I un-did the ends of the new belts and replaced the ends with the ones from my factory belts. Otherwise, I would have had to use the new receiver piece that came with the set. I wanted to retain the original receivers. Pretty easy. If you're not comfortable with the sewing, I'm sure you can have it done. I used to fish commercially, and sewed quite a bit. I'll try and dig out the box later today and post the part number.
