Sorry, I did not get a chance to read your replies so I thought I would ask again. I am considering changing my chrome trim out to black. How difficult is it to remove the trim and what is the process to change it to black?
Thanks in advance for answering my question twice, I promise I will listen this time! ------------------ Rob Fix '78 SC Targa |

If the trim is in really decent shape when and if you remove it I may be interested in purchasing it from you if you change to blacked out style, as for removing the trim I dont know to much about it, except for the chrome strips that run under the rear window weather strip. The rubber window seal is very firm and makes it difficult to work the trim from the body. When the rear glass is out is the best time to replace those...Jason

OK the concensus last time was to either leave, or buy used black pieces and sell the chrome. But if you do just decide to paint, you are way better off powdercoating!
As for removal the roll bar cover is relatively easy. there are 10mm or 12mm(i think) nuts in the rear fender wells, also you'll have to take a pile of screws out from along where the rear targa seal is and then replace or reseal the seal. It is not a hard job for those, but I agree that rear window trim, Leave it or take the window out. Have fun Shawn |
