Any Experience with Nology HotWire Plug Wires?

Just received a set of Nology HotWire capacitor plug wires for my moded 3.2L... Cool! I haven't installed them yet, but was wondering if anyone is currently running them on their sled and can send comments on any perceived performance gain/advantage. The box says that a 300HP engine can expect @10hp gain from essentially a much stronger and efficient spark....

Just interested in any testimonials!

Merry Christmas!

I put them on my 3.0 and they smoothed out the engine and help to pass Smog.

I don't like them at all. They output too much RFI.

No wires are going to give you any "performance gain/advantage" over good condition, stock wires. Any perception otherwise is called "placebo effect."

Any good quality NEW wires _can_ address problems in the old, worn wiring.

AMEN for that!

I helped a neighbor install some on his car and after he fired the motor up, the garage door began going up and down all by itself. Shut the motor off and the door stopped moving.

I gave him some Magnecors and all that nonsense went away.

Just one man's opinion (OK,...two) so YMMV,.....

mine are racey red to match..........that in itself was at least 500HP to the ground! have had mine 2 years and not a whimper. now when we do a valve adjust here in the future we'll see how easy they come off to replace/check plugs. no radio interference and im running an alpine 4 speaker w/alpine amp setup. no noises, no intergalactic hums, no nuthing.

also have their coil. no noises, no fluff, no nuthing. another 500HP to the ground! thats a combined 1000HP for a "F" class showroom stock car! now you know how we cheat!

"87 cab from hell! the engine may be stock ..........but we added or deleted whatever we could right to PCA letter of the rules.

Nology is an expensive solution to a problem that doesn't exist. You can't get the intake charge more burnt then burnt. Once it is lit the job is done. If it isn't getting lit then you have a basic problem that needs to be solved.

Keep it basic. Good trigger, good coil, good wires, good cap and rotor, good boots, good plugs. The only thing that you can add to that is increase the reliability of the pieces.

What would I do? The Nologys are expensive enough that I would sell them and get something more basic and to the point.

BTW - Same as Steve Weiner's suggestion, I have Magnecores on mine. Basic, to the point, and very high quality conductors with good quality insulation.

Glad I provided some entertainment,....

It really was an instant WTF moment as I've never experienced anything quite like that. After a few seconds of laughter, it was instantly apparent what was going on and the proof was evident when the motor was shut down.

We tried it one more time with the same effect and followed that with the Magnecor install. Voila',..no more "haunted" garage door opener.

JMHO,...I simply cannot understand the need to use such products when there are really excellent wire sets out there with outstanding track records. If one uses any kind of Engine Management with Nology's, they will be in for an incredible amount of grief.

That said, it WAS good for a laugh (aside from the wasted $$$),....
