Ronal Wheels - where do I find wider halves?
I've got a set of Roock wheels that are manufactured by Ronal. I would like to make them wider but no nothing about how they are made. My e-mails and phone calls to Ronal and Roock have gone unanswered.
Can this be done? Anyone know whare I can find the parts to do it? Thanks!

did you try this info@ronal.de ? I have some Ronals on my VW Transporter and they are real heavy wheels. Qaulity is very good for an afermarket wheel !
If they have trouble with english let me know i will try in german for you. Cheers,

What about contacting Kodiak wheels? On their webpage they have a sheet that requests specific measurements to make inners or outers for any given wheel.

I would also try Rich Bogart at Bogart Racing Wheels to see if he could spin you some new barrels and machine them correctly. That is a fairly unique bolt pattern, it appears, but if you shipped him a wheel to copy, he could probably do it.

I'm not necessarily in love with these wheels. They are heavy, pretty and well made. Very easy to keep clean.
The fronts are fine but the rears need to be 1" wider. My thoughts are that it would be less expensive to modify the rear wheels than to purchase wheels that are the size I want. I also figured while I had them apart I could paint the centers black. So how much should I expect to pay for new barrels? I have seen pricing in the hundreds of dollars for a single barrel.

18's will be pretty pricey. They are easy enough to make, but you end up paying more because there is only a few parts being made to that pattern. The profile of the shell is standard, but there is some programming to be done when the center bore and bolt battern get cut on the mill.
I have had quite a few different ones made, most folks just send a part along to copy. If you fill out a build sheet, it needs to be 100% correct, because the part made will be exactly to the specs you list on the sheet. As a side note, the style of wheel there indicates that the "outer" is actually an "inner" half. It does not seem to have the "tire well" required which means it is in the half being used on the inside. It makes no difference to whomever makes the wheel halfs for you, but is worth noting. Cheers

I can't quite figure out how those wheels go together. Are they 2 piece or 3 piece? The "back" half of the wheel takes a step up and is flush with the rear of the 5 spoke center. A well machined puzzle.

Do you have any pics from the back of the wheel or without a tire mounted? They may infact be 2 piece where the "center" and "outer" are all one piece.
Cheers

Are these 18" wheels? I didn't see that mentioned. If so, Rich may not be able to help you--I think he only goes up to 17" at this time, but I may be wrong. The halves I talked to him about were for 16" wheels.

They are 18s.
Front is 9" rear is 11". I don't have any pictires of the unmounted wheels. They look to be 3 piece as the 5-spoke hub is a single unit. I'll take a closer look at the back of the 5-spoke hub and see just what it is bolted to. Economically it may be better to sell these and buy a set of used wheels that are what I want. What I want are 9&12x18 wheels with a black center. The Roocks cost $3800 new and are probably worth $1000 used. Don't know if I can find a set of wheels like I want for similar money, that's where the widening comes in.
