Talking front inner wheel bearing seals

Ok, this is my problem. I started to replace the two inner wheel bearing seals on my 71 911E when I realized that the inner diameter of the seals I purchased from Vertex were to large. (approximately 42mm.) but the outer diameter was correct at approx. 64mm. So they would fit in the wheel hub, but not correctly on the spindle The inner needs diameter needs to be appox. 39mm.
I started to call around to the locate auto parts stores and was surprised to find that several of them had a listing. But upon inspection they were the same seals I had purchased from Vertex. Can anyone help me. I don't understand this.
The car has koni struts (classic's), Not sure if the car came with this type of strut or if someone did sometype of change. The car is also equiped with a 74 2.7 engine and trans. So there is a possibility that something was changed up front.
If anyone one has any ideas PLEASE let me know.
Thanks

To which I replied:

You've got to be kidding! Go ask Vertex, the place where you bought the part from, since you didn't think it necessary to purchase the part from the company that supports and sponsors this board.

What, does every one here think I'm in business to support the parts sold by my competitors! I'm insulted!

AS I WROTE TO WAYNE,
PELICAN WAS OUT OF STOCK SO THAT'S WHY I ORDERED IT FROM VERTEX. I CAN'T HELP THAT I WANTED TO TRY TO GET THEM ASAP. BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT THE MIGHTY DOLLAR DRIVERS EVERYTHING IN WAYNE'S WORLD!

ALSO FOR FYI. I FIGURED OUT THE PROBLEM. THE SPINDLES ARE MISSING THE DISTANCE RINGS. IT SEEMS THAT THE LAST OWNER PUT IT TOGETHER WRONG.

PS. I DO BUY MY STUFF FROM PELICAN. WHEN THEY HAVE IT IN STOCK.

Glad you got it worked out Randy. So Pelican was out of stock eh?? Looks like a missed opportunity to lock in a customer there Wayneo. So what's wrong with Pelican?? I think there was a topic on this a while back.

Sorry for the overreaction, but you would not believe the number of people who call me all the time saying that they bought something from Vertex, and want me to support it. Literally, several calls a day.

Don't quite understand why you were told these are out of stock - have plenty of them on hand...
