Is it difficult to service a G50 transaxle from an 87-89 911? I am using one in a midengine car. Are there any special tools that I will need, and are there any good service manuals for this job? I've got a Haynes manual, but it doesn't go into servicing the G50. I need to replace my 1st/2nd shift fork (which I think I bent when setting up my shift linkage). I know longer can select 1st or 2nd gear.
Thanks! -Mack |

bentley manual, around $100. i don't think you could bend a fork just screwing around with your linkage.

Thanks. These shift forks seem beefy. Maybe it has loosened? I will check into the bentley manual.

Unless there have been signifcant additions (an entire new section on the G-50) since publication last August ... the Bentley manual contains NOTHING about the internal components and servicing of the G-50!!!

Warren is correct. Zero about the G50 in the Bentley.
