Post Left turn signal mystery

so im driving at night and I make a left turn and BOTH of the blinkers on the dashboard start flashing. (as if I had my hazards on)

It turns out the front left blinker signal doesnt work....the right works fine.

does the fact that when I singal to turn left and both blinkers on the dashboard start blinking a sign....

in other words, did POrsche design it this way to let you know that one of your turn signals is not working or could it be some sort of electrical fault.

anyone have similar experience?

sometimes all lights work fine, and you still get both dash arrows. a new flasher usually fixes that.

In my car it did that with a burnt out light and with a burnt out fuse. For some reason the signal lights are each on separate fuses.

Don't know if this has anything to do with your situation, but I just replaced the entire turn signal/headlight flasher unit on my '83 SC because I could only get high beams with the turn signal on left or right. It turns out--no pun--that that unit is a weak point and frequently fails, with a variety of anomalous results.

Hello

Very simple, if you have an slight accident and short one blinker then you have the other system for emergency flashing. If you have one fuse you have nothing to flash.

Remember Porsches were made for Race and Rallye and on Rallye it is very comon to loose the car or hit something.

I had the same problem and it was a bad ground. I would check the grounds, clean up all of the connections, and check the wires. That did it for me!

On the H4 the bulbs may also be the culprit. Even though they look good the filaments may be bad.
