i like maltby penetrant, but kroil works just as well. i use WD to clean the top of my toolbox.

I wonder how Machinist's Workshop made sure that each bolt had an amount of rust on it that produced equal "stick"?

I had used in the past a product called "Rust Buster" in a zoom spout plastic bottle. It was nasty nasty stuff. It did work, but every time I used or even smelled it I would get a head ache. I have no idea what was in it, but it couldn't have been very good for you.

Actually, it works great for what it was designed for -- for [W]ater [D]isplacement -- spray it on all tools or parts that might rust before putting them away.
