C2/C4 retractable spoiler

I lost one of the bolts that holds on the retractable spoiler - the bolt that comes in from the side. I replaced it with an extra license plate bolt as it was the same threadcount and size and it worked well for a few days until it fell out. I repeated the process and torqued the bolt much tighter this time... but it still fell out. The up and down movement seems to unscrew it. Is there a washer that's supposed to go in there? Do I need lock-tite?

Hey monkeyboy, Mine did the same thing years ago. You should call your p-car dealer, I believe there was a recall, er, service bulletin put out on this problem. Don't remember what I did to fix it, but what ever it was it's lasted for several years w/o problems. good luck!
