Question 3.2 Rod Bolt Question

I am installing the new rod bolts on my 3.2 and noticed that the new bolts were the same as the old ones. The nuts, however, are different. The old nuts were 14 mm and 6 sided. The new nuts are 13mm and 12 sided. What is the difference and are the new ones as good as the originals?
Thanks as always,
Tom

I would use this opportunity to install Raceware rod bolts. From what I've heard the 3.2 bolts are questionable from a performance point of view. It would be added insurance for the longevity of the bottom-end.

Hello

As far i understand it correct you have 964/993 bolts in your hand.

They are slightly lighter and maybe have other benefits.

Just ask the salesperson to make sure especialy if the tourque specs are similar.

Thank you for your replys. These are 993 bolts and nuts, since they have replaced the 930 set. I can not find any reference to torque spec changes for the new nuts. Any ideas?????
