Accumulator purpose
Am I correct in presuming that the CIS Accumulator is only used/necessary for engine starting fuel pressure and that it has no other purpose?
Input appreciated. Thanks - EPS - Tucson

I have heard it also helps to muffle pulses in the system fuel system. It protects other components from spikes in fuel pressure, etc.

CIS Fuel Accumulator....
According to Bosch Technical Bulletin:
Fuel Accumulator "The fuel accumulator maintains the pressure in the fuel system for a certain time after the engine has been switched off. When the engine is running it serves to deaden the noise of the electric fuel pump". |
