Post Whats Easier to Upgrade a 3.2 911 Carerra or a 951?(performance wise)

Just wondering what I can get more performance out of and which engine can take more?
Say if I upgrade the 911 with a MAF kit and a performance chip will it be faster than a 951 with a MAF kit and performance chip?

I am going to post these at both forums

That's a silly question.
ANY turbo car is more easily modified by chip tuning, they just crank up the boost.
MAF and a chip won't get much on ANY normally aspirated Motronic car. A little, but not a lot.

The 951 – wins hands down. I sold a 951 with the HUNTLEY MAS kit, chips, adjustable fuel pressure regulator and variable boost controller. YEEE HAAAWWW!!! Man - that car was a rocket. The ease of modifying a TURBO car is laughable. HOWEVER, I was glad to sell that car to get a lowly 1976 911S and would do it again.

Red face

Raf,i can only speak for the 3.2 it dependens whats performance for you? for some people 300 hp is good ,for some of us anything less than 500 hp is slow, but before you even start prepere your self to spend big bucks don't matter which way you go,in my case it all start with a air filter a year later she is turbocharged running good BUT SLOW,and $7500 in the hole and i figure another 7 grant more, just to give you a idea. Why dont you consider a 930. (911 Turbo).

Then its just a case of 911 or 944?

I've heard the 930s can be a bit scary.

I've never driven so I dont know.

Either way I want one. I dont want one of these new namby pamby 996 Turbos. I want a real 930. In black with black leather.
Sooooo cool.

Alex.
