Post center caps

My personal space and security have been invaded once again. Some little bastards stole the center caps of my Fuchs. At least the brats didn't scratch up the paint on the wheels too bad. I suspect it's the kids that hang out across the street in the city park at all hours of the night. The cops say that they're probably just bored. The cops also tried to convince me that I was probably some other Porsche owner or neighbor. I quickly informed him of my theory that it was probably not likely that another owner or our retired neighbors would be out stealing parts at 2 a.m. Most of the people in our neighborhood are in their 60's and 70's or affluent professionals. So much for living in one of the nicer neighborhoods on the island. We're moving. In the year and a half we've lived here, Someone pulled a hit and run on my new truck, stole my motorcycle, egged my car(twice) and stole the center caps. Enough already. The park is supposed to be closed after 10 p.m. but the cops won't enforce it. Moving to another(crappier) neighborhood that won't attract as much crime. In case you live in honolulu and see some kid trying to pawn them or using them for key chains, e-mail me. Thanks for letting me vent.

This kind of petty crime and vandalisim makes me sick. I wonder if there is *any* place you can live (in our so-called civilized world) and escape it?
Seems there is no respect for anybody elses personal property in this society.

And remember, if you caught the little creeps in the act and smashed their heads into a curb, you'd be in court (and likely jail) in no time.

I came out of a store once to see that someone had snapped my 3rd brake light off... Kids, adults, whatever! Some people cannot bear to see beautiful things that they do not own... Just be glad they didn't vandalize more.

Check this out, I came out of church last night and found someone had sprayed a famous caramel colored soft drink all over my SC. Is nothing sacred?? I happen to know that God drives a SC too and He was watching! Fortunately had plenty of wax on the car and it all washed off... harmless. Can't wait for judgement day to find out who did it. Capital sin.

I thought God drove the new Carrera GT? Or do you have to have more money than God to afford one?

Radcon, It's true the islands have become infested with crime. Just wait until the 5 year welfare cut-off hits over there. The expers expect crime to skyrocket! off Punchbowl (crime), Kailua (OK); Kahala (very safe); V-Land (forget it and by a rusted surf car); Hilo (where they roll the sidewalks up at 5p.m. and a P-car doesn't stand a chance wit hthe 400+ inches of rain and high, high humidity. Nonetheless, I lived there for a little over 12 years and miss it to this day. Try Kahala heights It's probably the best and safest neighborhood in Honolulu.

I bought some center cap locks for my new polished Fuchs. They were like $25 from Pelican. Good, cheap insurance against things like that.

That wouldn't stop someone from really damaging your car though. I've often thought an active defense system would be cool - like an M60 automated turret that pops out of the top when the car is left unattended and "patrols" the area

"PLEASE STAY AT LEAST 50 YARDS FROM THIS VEHICLE."

Its really sad that some people feel that if they can't have anything nice, then noone else should either.

Sorry to hear about your fuchs.

I often thought about installing the center cap locks on my car. Then I thought about the reality of someone just using more force to remove the caps and destroying not only the caps but scraping the hell out of the wheels as well. It seems like a no win situation. You either let them take the caps or run the risk of them really messing up the wheels and mutilating the caps as well.

God drives a Black Mustang, 5.0L, forward and rear looking radar, low profile light bar, etc...

He just thinks he's a state trooper.

Red face

Why are there so many a--holes roaming the earth. My family car has had the door handle ripped off, the trunk smashed (SUV type dent)the bumpers hit several times and just last week while we were away some ass ripped the star medallion off the hood. This is near $2000 in damage over 6 years in both DC and NY. They will pay at some point!
May these f___ckers rot in hell!

I heard about a guy who came out of a theater and found that someone had climbed on top of his Porsche and danced around on the roof and hood while he was watching the movie. I guess this is why most of us have daily drivers and insurance.

Radcon,
What area do you live in? There are a few places on the island(assuming you can afford it, I hella sure can't) that is more "safe". Hawaii Loa Ridge has security, Waialae Iki ain't so bad, and then there's Kahala Ave. Places like Pearl City and Waipahu(not to mention the west coast) I would not even bother leaving my car alone for a second. If I see some kid pawning them or using them as keychains I'll kick their ass myself first. Then I'll email you.
