Will a '93 RS decklid fit a '74?

Probably not, but I have to ask. . .

It should - it's pretty common to put a later tail on an early car for the movable spoiler. You'll just have to adapt the hinges.

A '93 RS lid should fit an earlier car without adaptors. I believe the RS lid was the same spacing as an earlier lid with an adaptor to fit the 964. At least that is how my car was.

Edit: I am assuming you are asking about the RSA decklid and spoiler.

According to PET the 964 RS(A) lid used the 965 (p.nr. 965.512.019.00) hinges which in general is the hinges from the old 911/930 so it should fit fine.

A pic of a RSA tail and decklid on my 87. Should fit the same on a 74.

RS, not RSA.

But it looks good anyway.

What's a 93 RS? Don't know it. The silver tail you posted a pic of looks like a RSA tail with a 993 RS badge on it.

Thought all the RSA tails didn't have the rubber thing around the outside, but I could be wrong about that. . .

Just the aftermarket tails like the one in the link above.

I stand corrected - I checked into it some more and you are correct. Here's my source for information:

http://www.rsamerica.net/OEMinfo/whaletail/index.htm

Based on that, it appears the silver one I'm looking at really is an RSA wing. I'm interested in it more now. . . Considering that I already have a set of RSA seats. I may eventually go after an RSA drivetrain for a really interesting "conversation piece" 911.

FYI: the RS (Euro) had a standard motorized wing, the RSA (US) had the fixed wing.
