Trans swap problems..help!!

Guys, I've ran into a few snags leaving me puzzled--
When did the 915 change clutch cable style, and why. --Helper spring??--
My 911 had a 73 915 in it, and I neglected to think about swapping the cable out to different style--Nor do I have the bracket that holds the cable to the trans.

Any help is much appreciated......S in Va

I'm doing the same thing... I've heard that you can just take the clutch linkage off of your early 915, and add it to the later 915, if you want. I had the option of either when I bought my 915, and I went for the later, since porsche tends to make changes for good reasons. I was told that all I need is a later cable. The side plate was left off of mine when I bought it. That is the reason I am waiting also.
