What’s the trick to remove the factory front sway bar on a 69?

I’m trying to refresh the front bar, and with 39 year old rubber bushings I can’t pull the bar through them. Do I need to unbolt the triangle plate and try to push the rubber bushing out of one side?

front sway bar

yes you have to remove the plates on both sides, the bushing it self has a split for easy removal and then just slide out the bar. Make sure when installing that the direction of the bar is the same as it came out. switching side to side might brake the bare in not to long time.

Thanks, I gave up last night and figured a cooler head today would be better than a bigger hammer last night..
