Anyone have pictures of the inside of a CIS fuel tank?

I’m curious about the sump and the baffles that prevent the fuel from sloshing and splashing around in the tank.
I’d like to see what it looks like in there without cutting up my own tank

It looks like I have a fuel delivery problem and I think it’s caused by dirt and rust from the fuel tank.
I have changed the filter in the engine bay and will take a look at the screen filter in the fuel tank this weekend.
There are lots of threads on the subject, but I couldn’t find one with pictures of the tank internals.

I've already done that.
I have also done a search here on the BBS, but found no pictures.

This is a little off topic but I will tell my tail since it is somewhat related. I just had a SC gas tank reconditioned. It ended up to be quite a big deal. I thought they would chemicaly clean it and that would be it. They cut a good sized hole to epoxy coat the inside and reweld the baffold. It turned out OK but purchasing a used tank and having it reconditioned cost more than NEW.

Performance Products sells a NEW reproduction for just a little over $400. I will go that way if the need rises in the future

so the center of that orange thing is where the big drain plug fits in? that would explain the screen on the drain plug i guess.

it appears on my tank (just back from being boiled) that the plastic swirly thingy is broken. not only that but the lid my have come off...

how necessary is this plastic thingy and has anybody sourced a replacement?

final question: how big a deal is it to cut a hole in the tank and then reweld it shut?

took the tank to a Renu franchise and they removed the old swirl pot and replaced with what i THINK was a coffee can.

I spent $250 for a good used tank and $350 to have it reconditions/cleaned. I wish I would have just purchased a new reproduction
