Smile wide track. Any other options bar spacers???

Hi,

I have recently purchased my 1st 911. Its an '89 3.2 that has had quite a lot of work done so it resembles 993 Turbo.

Its runs spacers to compensate for the wider track.

Are there any other options available to actually space the hubs further out? I expect they would be quite expensive as they would have to include shafts/wishbones etc...

I am just interested to know if this problem has been solved.

I fear keeping the wheel spacers will drastically reduce the wheel bearings lifespan!!

Thanks for your time
Stewart

New wheels with offsets to make up for the spacers is really the only way to get rid of them. What size are you running front and rear?

Mild street driving probably won't affect your bearings but if you track the car it WILL increase the wear on those pieces.

Oh, new guys are supposed to post a picture of their cars, BTW. Welcome aboard.

Oh Haha,

Thanks for the reply.

Took your advice and added a newbie post with pics New member and pics of my '89 911/993

Is the front subframe from the 993 carrera2 an option? or did they move away from the TB setup?

The late 89 to the current models use coil springs for the suspension. While anything can be done with the right amount of $$$$$$$$, I think converting a TB car to coils would be quite a task. try doing a searhc inthis forum. It's possible someone has more info for you on this.
