Unhappy Engine Noise

Help!!!!!!

My 72S started making a noise today that I'm quite afraid of. It's a Carrera 3.0 Engine with oil fed tensioners. It was a sort of grinding noise when on load above 3000 RPM. Is it what I think it is (intermediate shaft)? Thanks for any advice.

it could be a lot of things. hard to hear it on the computer. the newer tensioners are not foolproof. hold a real long screwdriver to your ear bone, and touch the tip to each chain housing. hear anything in there? if you have a stethoscope, that works too. don't get your hair in the fan. raise the rpm with your hand while you listen.
