New Wheels - Thanks to John Walker!

My husband, Steve, has always adored the RUF wheels. At John Walker's swapmeet back a few months ago, John brought a set for sale. Needless to say, we wound up bringing home as much a stuff as we took there to sell!

They had a little curb rash on them, just minor stuff. Steve did a little sanding work on them and had them powder coated. He then hand painted the RUF stamping in the center caps with a bright red paint. It looks orange in the third picture, but that is apparently the camera angle - it is definately RED!

It really changed the look of the car (before and after):

Laneco,
Is that your slantnose? Nice wheels. Wow, so similar to mine, but red.

A veiled reference to a certain accident in the rain?

Beautiful car!

Very nice, +1 on some tire shine to bring it all together, especially on a black car. Are those the 17x8 & 10's?

Angela

What color/finish were they before he had them power coated? I'll do some photo shop magic to see what it would look om mine.

Thanks guys! We're both pretty tickled with the outcome. The speedlines were a really nice set of wheels, but these black RUFs just "make it"!

The Rufs are 17x8 and 17x10 and were originally this color:

Steve is going to wind up selling the speedlines as he is quite enamored with this look and the speedlines don't fit anything else we own or will own in the forseeable future.

And yes, that cabby is Steve's. If I am on exceptionally good behavior, I am allowed to drive it but that rarely occurs - LOL!

I have the greatest respect for Steve and Angelas workmanship and ability, and I apologize if this attempt at humor was misunderstood...
That being said, the tires (at least the sidewall!) need dressing.....

I took no offense - but I'm rather curious.... Did someone put tire shine on the treads? Seriously? Angela went to school with a guy who put armor all on a motorcycle seat, but I've never heard of putting anything like that on TREADS!

And yeah, I do need to shine up the sidewalls. Had the wife shoot the pictures about 30 seconds after I installed the tires, didn't even think about dressing the sidewalls!

Thanks for the compliments, much appreciated! Also, my favorite color is Jet F(*&@$$ Black!

Steve

I could see satin black anodize spokes with regular anodize wheel. That would offer a little more contrast, and still maintain the sinister look. Lowering to euro spec wouldn't hurt either
