counteract rust inhibitor device
Has anyone used the counteract device to prevent rust on a 911? Or have any insight as to whether this would be effective? TIA Paul.

I have one on my 914. It was installed by the previous owner. I have researched the technology and decided that the question of whether it works is a definite maybe. Even electrical engineers can't seem to agree whether it's a viable technology. For what it's worth, the car is relatively rust-free for a 914. The company also seems to have decent technical support, which you would not expect for a snake-oil selling outfit.

Just put one on my 78SC. I've had one on my 96 Jaguar XJ6 for 2 years. There was a rust spot near rear wheel arch (common rust spot), but there has been no visible progression since I installed it. I've now installed one on all four of my vehicles.
Here in Canada, Canadian Tire (Canada's PEP Boys) gives a 5 year rust warranty when they install it. Lots of salt in the cities so the warranty is pretty strong support. I'm an engineer and the concept of a high voltage surface charge on the paint does make sense to me. |
