Ignition problem
I'm wondering if anyone can help me diagnose an ignition problem. I have a 1980 911. It starts just fine, but when I turned the key today to shut down the engine, it kept running. I had to stall out the car to stop the engine, then disconnect the battery to turn off the auxiliary power. I'm assuming there's something wrong in the ignition switch (duh). What I don't know is how big a problem it might be -- something loose? A whole new assembly?
Can anyone venture a guess? Thanks. Tony |
Check the plug under the dash under the steerig column (follow the wire from the back of the igition to the "plug" and make sure it is seated).

Mr. Drew,
Thanks for your response. That's potentially a much less expensive solution than I expected. I'll try that. Tony |
