Help With Pic

A friend gave me this photo about six years ago and I had forgotten about it but I came across it tonight. Unfortunately Tom Frank the friend who gave this photo to me has passed away. Tom and I talked about when he used to race long ago but a lot of the details are very blurry. If you guys could help verify if this info is correct I would appreciate it.
If I remember correctly:
This photo is of Tom racing a Monza at Laguna Seca (maybe in the corkscrew)
Tom said he used to race Le Mans, he also said he had built three can am cars at one point but when they were testing the can am cars all three flipped over backwards in a row and one of the drivers broke his neck.

At the very least this is a very cool photo:

Sorry, I meant to put this in the off topic forum. Can a moderator move this for me?
Thanks,
Shawn

That is what made me think of posting it on pelican. I know that I also have an article about Tom and some of the racing he did somewhere around the house, hopefully I can find it.

I have a friend that has kind of a barn find IMSA with 3400 ( hundred) miles .

As for the photo, that doesn't look like the entrance to the Corkscrew to me. There appear to be people on the outside of the turn and I don't think spectators can get there. No clue as to where it might be.

In regards to the picture:

This looks like IMSA 1977. I don't think it's Laguna Seca because the the Brumos #59 car only ran one IMSA race in 1977: The 3h Mid-Ohio.

The race was won by Peter Gregg in the #59 Brumos Porsche 935

For the 1978 season Tom Frank went on race a Porsche 935 as well.

Naturally, I could be wrong.

Here's a color picture of Tom Frank in the Monza:

Targa,
That's some amazing detective work! I think you are right on the money with what you posted. I talked to Tom so many times about racing that a lot of the info I could remember was confused. Do you have a high resolution copy of the picture? If you do I would really appreciate a copy of it. I was doing grading work at Tom's home (horse property) and one day we got talking about how I had bought a Monza to race in circle track at the local speedway (I was 17 or 18) Tom got really excited and insisted that I come up to his house and check out some of his photo albums. Long story short Tom, a guy who at one time was racing IMSA, Indy, and Le Mans upon his request ended up coming down to the track a couple times and helping me with my race car that didn't even have paint because I had to save money so I could afford tires. I just got excited when I found that photo in an old tool box last night.
