errr... one of the famous last words?

E.g.
Nice doggie
I can do that
I wonder what that button is for?
Watch me

Why haven't you pushed it yet? It's more difficult to hold both ears while doing it. In that case, ask your wife to do it while you casually stroll backwards about 20'.

Push it and tell us what happens, and for old times sake, just before you push it (you need a witness to report it to the Darwin Awards people), you need to say, "Hey hold my beer and watch this......"

LOL

Mine was for the aftermarket Hofco alarm system and I removed the whole system.

Zef 01-24-2008 04:27 AM

Afterburner control...?

Wavey 01-24-2008 04:55 AM

Push It Ferchristsakes! Push It!

Crazy Horse 01-24-2008 05:03 AM

I have pushed it !!!

When you push the button once, it "locks" in and when you push it again, it comes back out to about 1/4 to 3/8".

I have pushed it with both engine on and off and nothing seems to happen. I just can't figure it out. I have been through the car and have not noticed any alarm system (or working door locks).

I posted because I thought there may be a high percentage of the chance someone else has one on their cars. It looks like it "belongs". However, no matter what you do, it does not light up.

If no one knows right off - I'll begin tracing wires.

A popular location to put an electric radio antenna defeat button. Allows you to put your antenna down when listening to cassettes (back in the day). Does your car have a passenger side electric antenna?

Crazy Horse 01-24-2008 05:49 AM

Bench-Racing wins !!!!

Traced the wires just now - antenna defeat on passenger side electric antenna.

Flux Capacitor, make sure you have your seat belt secure and you’re going at least 85 mph when you push it. I saw the same one in a Delorean once.

David E. Clark 01-24-2008 07:03 AM

Years and years ago (mid-70s) I added an "antenna amplifier" to my Mustang that looked like that. It was supposed to amplify the FM signal when you pushed it in. Since your car is of similar vintage I'd check to see if it is connected to the stereo and/or antenna. When you trace the wires, let us know what you discover.

Not OEM.

Who knows, ask the previous owner and on, and on, and on until you find out what it is - and let us know.

You must have one of the James Bond cars that didn't make it to the movie.

Its actually the fuel injection "prime" button on a cold start-up only.

Astroboy 01-24-2008 03:55 PM

Is it a Jolly, Candy-Like Button? (ren and stimpy reference)

dipso 01-24-2008 04:31 PM

Every time you push it Tera Patrick appears at my house.

Keep pushing it.
