Calling fellow Pelicans.
I have a car which needs to be shipped from Fort Wayne to Grady Clay in Denver, and would greatly appreciate a little local help . Not necessarily a PPI exactly..more a little background checking ! Kind regards David |

David,
I'm in the process of relocating from Fort Wayne to Indianapolis so I'm in Fort Wayne on weekends and Indy during the week right now. Send me an e-mail and let me know what you are trying to do. mrdowns@comcast.net Mike

Guys,
This is a ’66 911 in pieces that Pelican davidppp has purchased. It is located about 5 miles NE of downtown Ft. Wayne still in Allen County. East of I-69, Exit 116 on Leo Road between the Interstate and Leo Cedarville. It is a couple of miles north of I-469. It is in a private home and we must be very respectful. We need someone with a digital camera, a measuring tape and a cell phone. The questions are: The shell is on a non-roadworthy single axle trailer. What is the width of the outside of the widest points (tires?). The question to answer here is “Will the shell and trailer fit inside a standard semi-trailer auto transport?” All the parts are in cardboard boxes. Will the boxes make it to Denver without disintegrating? Do the things in the boxes need to be wrapped and re-boxed? Apparently there are parts inside the car. Do these need to be wrapped and boxed? The engine and transmission are intact and supposedly complete and ‘rebuilt’. Will the engine turn 720º CW with a 19 mm wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt? Will the transmission input shaft turn? What is the rust and/or prior crash damage situation? Is there any sign the car and parts were ever left out in the weather? It will be impossible to verify that the car is absolutely complete but davidppp needs to know if it appears the major components are there. This is where the camera will help. The owner is off in a warmer climate but a local friend will escort and supervise the inspection. I’m going to help from here in Denver. There can be a Pelican/PCA group of several people doing this ‘inspection’. Feel free to email me. My email address is on my Pelican profile. Best, Grady

Thursday morning bump.
We need several Pelicans to help with this. Nothing more than looking, photoing all the stuff and emailing (or posting) the images. This '66 was dissasembled and crated up in the late '70s. The sellor just un-crated it within the past year. Everything is indoors so no standing around in Indiana winter. Feel free to email me. My email address is in my Pelican profile. Best, Grady
