Anyone producing a Ruf look polyurethane valance?
As far as I can tell, the answer is no but thought I'd ask.
Anyone know a source for repros. btw, I have an email into Ruf to see if they are still available but I'm guessing their expensive if they are.

Ruf valences were p/u but their full bumper covers were always f/g

Ruf still shows a CTR front bumper for 1,560 Euros on their web site.

Yes, looking for a source for a P/U valence not the full bumper cover. As far as I can tell, the only repro valences are f/g.

Don,
count me in too. Looks like the valance has an opening for a cooler in the front and I can keep my stock front bumper. the ruf website doesnt even show anything pre 964. who makes the fiberglass ones?

From my quick searches, Better Bodies and BW Motorsport.
See this post for a pic of the one from BW. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/showthread.php?threadid=217610 Better Bodies is shown on their site. http://www.betterbodiesmotorsport.com/interiors/fbumpers1/930fsr2.html There looks to be a subtle difference in the real deal and f/g versions tho I've never seen the real deal off a car. From pixs I've seen, the real p/u has material around the entire fog light opening where the f/g is open on top of the fog lights. Also, the p/u version has an integrated spoiler where the f/g needs a spoiler added. I love to see a pix of a real ruf valence off the car to know if the above is true.

thanks for the links Don..
I really like the look of these. The lower spoiler is necessary IMO, wonder how to fab that part and also either brackets for the fogs or brake ducts. My goal is to add a second mocal cooler in series to the fender mounted Turbatrol I have. Seems that the front mounted coolers are really the way to-go. Nice current photo of a claimed "real" RUF airdam in cars for sale section. Car is an SC in Washington state. Shawn

That's the insiration for my search. I've pm'd with the owner about it. It's a real ruf valence.

The valence is still shown on the German Ruf website. It would be hard for me to justify 960 Euros when a f/g repro can be had for under $400.

Don,
I agree. I got an aftermarket fg one and it looks great. The only difference I can find is that the Ruf has a black rubber lip. I would love to be able to purchase just the lip without another mortgage.

Tom,
Any pics of yours? Who made it? I've read on some other Ruf bumper threads that the spoiler lip can be fabbed out of some conveyor material.

Don, I seem to recall that Souk was working on a P/U valance with Brad at BW motorsports in Il.
I know that BW motorsports made the Ruf style bumpers in fiberglass. They also did a version with brake ducts instead of fog light openings. I don't know if Brad ever got his web site up, but call him at 618-622-0524. I have done business with him before, and I can say that he is first class.

Well it looks like that lip is just painted black rather than being made of rubber.
Bills is a bit different than the one pictured on the Ruff site. This one is a knock off of the one pictured on the Ruff site. I'm Sure pelican can order it. It came from ***************. ![]() BTW I have an AC condenser up front since I have a wheel well oil cooler. Things are cool all around. ![]() Also, I used a rear grill cut to size for the front.

Bill, Thanks for the pics. Did Ruf make two versions? The one in the 2nd to the last pic has extensions that go behind the belows. The other pics, there's no extensions. It looks like a nice piece but I don't need the oil cooler bits. I like the fully surrounded fog light holes as opposed to the f/g pieces that are open above the fog lights.
I haven't heard back from Ruf in Texas so I don't know if this is available w/o the cooler kit. Williec, Yeah, I've read the threads about Souk and BW making p/u but from what I can tell, it never came to be. I pm'd souk a couple days ago but haven't heard back.

pic of my factory bumper with RUF polyurethane valance. Very very durable. I ran over a semi-tire carcass on the highway on the way to a DE and it chipped the paint but no cracks in the valance. A fiberglass valance would have been destroyed. To answer your question I do not know of another manufacturer and yes they are expensive but worth it IMO for the durability.

Really like that!! I assume that would work well on my '89 Cab. Right now I am looking at the cooler and the scrapped up protection bar. Does it provide some aerodynamic gain?? Hopefully ...
