Taking apart 1972/3 standard seats
I am trying to take apart some 1972/1973 standard seats so I can refinish the metal side/hinge plates. The seatbacks are a no brainer. Just unscrew the four philips screws and they comes off. The seat bottoms are a bit trickier. I unscrewed the plates from them, but they seem to not want to come apart. I tried rolling around on the floor in tears, but still no luck. Does anyone know how to dismantle the seat bottoms from the metal hardware? Thanks for the advice.

I can't tell from you're post what you're hung up on.
have you removed the connecting rod (911 521 045 02) that connects the right - left sidesplates? if one side plate is at a different angle than the other, the connecting rod is under load and will make the removal very difficult. do a search on that pn. Wayne has a nice parts diagram with all the bits and pieces. Bill K
