The famous issue, weak hood shocks and engine lid shocks.
has anyone tried those short shocks from Auto part stores? I went to Autozone to rent the slide hammer couple days ago and saw some short shocks they have. I tried to push them on the floor with both hands and my body weight but couldn't even make them move by mm. I can compress our shock easily this way. Do you think it would work for our hood and engine lid or I might easily bend my hood? Anyone tried them yet?

Whoa, take care. when I installed the double shock to my rear lid, it put it out of alignment. Actually raised the back end of the lid up due to all the pressure.
Since then I replaced my right arm with a Turbo arm and split the dual shock and placed them on both ends. Good Now. No lopsided seal.
