Engine ID by code

I have a CIS motor with# 6569153 code stamp. What is it and where can I locate a source for identifying motors this way ?

looks like a 76 911S targa. 2.7 liter 165hp motor. If the engine type is 911/89 it would have originally come with a sporto transmission. You can get a copy of the porsche red book on amazon.com
