Anyone w/pics of rollbar in a targa

I am building a trackrat targa and am trying to find out how the rollbar install is different from a coupe to a targa.

Pics please!

I thought the whole idea behind the Targa top was that it WAS a roll bar.

I've seen Targas that have rolled and not even shattered the back windows. Of course track rules are track rules. . .

Hi Mark. I found a few pics on this website. Scroll down to the targas. It looks like one uses a bolt in bar and the other is weld in.
I put an "Autopower" rollbar in my coupe but had Autopower make the diagonal bar and the horizontal harness bar removable to allow access to the back seat area for stuff. (not for passengers but stuff to take to the track).

Porsche-o-phile, if you want to install race seats and harnesses, you need a proper roll bar as a minimum to get out on the track (at least with PCA).

Here is my 71 with a TRE installed roll bar getting a little wheel lift at WSIR. TRE has a great product and tied it to the B pillars. I do need to raise it about 1" and have the items to do that, just have not found the time. Bar was installed spring of 07.

Thanks guys. I am specifically trying to see the attachment points being used in comparison to a coupe.

Mark, I can take some pics of any area you want this week. I have my seats out doing some interior things and getting ready for another track day. Just let me know what area you want to see.

How are you going to raise it? I need to do the same thing! Mine's from TRE as well.

Mark, Contact Dave. He as different height bases that can be welded in at the lower front mounting area to raise it. I have a local welder and fabricator down the street from me who will do the welding for a 6 pack.
By raising the base it will also move the bar back a tad. When I get it done it will be snug to the targa bar.

Pictures and Mounting brackets

Mark,

Some pictures of SC Targa's roll cage (Safety Device) and mountings:

Front mounting:

Middle mounting:

Rear mounting:

Black SC Targa:

I don't have any pictures of the roll cage with the targa top off the car. If you need some please advise. The roll bar hugs the top and pillars very closely. HTH.
