Pelican's 2008 Gift Webcertifcates!

I'm happy to announce that Pelican Parts just purchased a bunch of old inventory from Porsche, and we're going to be offering some of this neat stuff as freebies for repeat customers! Those of you who have ordered from Pelican before know that about 6 weeks after you place your order, our servers email our customers a WebCertificate coupon. It's completely random in nature. If you place a $3000 order, you may get a coupon for a free mug. If you place a $10 order, you may get a 10% off coupon. Or, you may get a free gift.

I just got some of the new shipment in from Porsche, and here's what we'll be offering in coupons in 2008:

- FREE Porsche 550 Spyder Heritage mugs (made in Germany, not Asia)
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/PORS/POR_PORS_BOT02F_pg18.htm

- FREE Porsche 356 #1 Heritage mugs (made in Germany, not Asia)
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/PORS/POR_PORS_BOT02F_pg17.htm

- FREE Porsche Sport DESIGN Sunglasses!
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/PORS/POR_PORS_BOT02F_pg25.htm

- FREE Porsche Trekking Backpack
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/PORS/POR_PORS_BOT02F_pg31.htm

- FREE Porsche Travel Bag
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/shopcart/PORS/POR_PORS_BOT02F_pg30.htm

Our previous "freebie" coupon deals were incredibly popular with people - we sold out of our mini car care kits within a few months. Hopefully (or not), these will last a little bit longer.

Thanks again for everyone's support!

-Wayne

Cool stuff! I always forget that I have them in my email when I place an order, bums me out.

May not be a problem you would want to fix but is there anyway that you could attach our webcerts to our profile so that they will show up on our next purchase, if they're not expired.

Wayne,

As to your post:

"""I'm happy to announce that Pelican Parts just purchased a bunch of old inventory from Porsche, and we're going to be offering some of this neat stuff as freebies for repeat customers! Those of you who have ordered from Pelican before know that about 6 weeks after you place your order, our servers email our customers a WebCertificate coupon. It's completely random in nature. Might I suggest that maybe it not be so random as to the order, as a $3K customer would much rather be bestowed a 10% coupon (on his next purchase, which could be serious $$$ again) than a free mug. I would think this to be quite significant as to customers who are pricing available parts out there in the marketplace. Just a thought....as my loyalty usually stays with PP due to this board (no nickel/diming stuff), but I have often wondered how the discounts/gifts were assigned. At least now I know of it's randomness (which I didn't know...) and that would explain the seemingly unbalanced assignment of a free mug for your $3K order vs. 10% off on a $45 order.........?????????????????????????????????

...AGAIN: just a thought here. I'm thankful for this board (and it's people) more than I can say...THAT part is TRULY priceless. And I make sure I remind myself of that fact............

Keep up the good work, my friend!!

My best,

Wayne, is there anywhere I can pick that Internal Frame pack up? Does Pelican list it as a seperate listing?

This looks pretty cool Wayne.

BTW: Will the Pelican Parts stickers still be coming with every order? My last two didn't.

Heh, I need coupons faster than 6 weeks out. Once you start a project and figure out you forget a part, it's usually before you hit that 6 week mark.

If I remember correctly from my marketing courses, the best time to give an incentive for repeat catalog or on-line purchase is immediately after the customer has just made a purchase. Which would explain why many companies include special offers in the packaging when an item is shipped.

6 weeks does seem to be too long.

All the items can be purchased separately, they are listed in the catalog. The catalog lists them at list price though - I don't expect to sell many at those prices. If you want one, I can cut some deals...

I've thought about this, and used my own personal experience and feedback from our customers to try to figure this out. About 3 weeks after the order is sent out, we send out a followup email asking if they got everything okay, and if they have any installation questions. Then five weeks after, we send out the coupons. It's my thought that by this time, you guys have gotten the parts and had enough time to start and/or complete the project.

Heck, it's working pretty darn well, so I'm not really keen to mess with it at this time...

Items shipped out of Southern California get the stickers, we're working on the NoCal sticker / freebie stuff right now...

Wayne,
What about us who pick up "Will Call"?
I live locally, and have been to Pelican every week for the past 3 wks for purchases.
Since we don't use our EMAIL for purchases, how can we get a chance at freebies?

thanks

Make sure you have an email address associated with your purchases, and you will get the coupons in your email...
