| Price of Bentley Carrera Manual
Every place I looked, this manual was around $120. I found it yesterday in the local B&N (Barnes & Nobles) for $44.95! I don't even have a 911 from the late-80s, but I bought it to add to my Porsche collection.

Not to rain on your parade, but that book has been available all over the web for many months for between $35 and $40, delivered. I bought one from e-campus.com, and the total cost was $35, to my door. Someone once posted a really cool "search engine" for finding the lowest price. I used it, and it showed lots of low price sellers for the Carrera book. Now, if only someone sold the Bentley SC book for cheap . . .

Thanks, Nick. I guess a wet parade is better than none at all. With this book, I can rationalize purchasing an '88 or '89 Carrera.

hey, we're in the same boat, I bought the book because the price was so good, and, who knows, maybe someday I'll buy the car to go with it!

I was looking for a Bentley Manual for my '80 on E-bay. I think the appropriate manual actually covers 78-83. They have new ones that have been selling for up to about $100. Are these people crazy? Do they bother to check book stores or other on-line book sources before they get addicted to bidding? E-bay is definitely not alwas a bargain. There are a lot of parts on there that bring new price or more, and then you're not getting a warranty with most of the stuff. I have bought a few things on E-bay but only after checking the prices everywhere else first. ------------------ '80 Targa

The SC (78-83) book actually lists for $119.95, both from the publisher and on Amazon.com. I bought mine on Ebay for around $80 and was pretty happy. I have heard of the Carerra manual selling in the $40 range, but never the SC edition.

The price disparity between the Bentley Carrera and SC manuals makes no sense at all. The Carrera book actually has more pages, and the two books share much of the same editorial content. I suspect once the initial demand for the hot-off-the-press SC book subsides, you'll see them for less than 50 bucks too. ------------------ Doug '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA members.home.net/zielke/911SC.htm
