water leaks in footwells

Its raining hard again today and sure enough ive got water under my fuse block and on the tray under my glovebox!( and the gas pedal ) Ive read that this could be from clogged drainage areas under the windshield wipers and blower...my windshield seems to leak abit around the bottom as well. Can anyone elaborate on this problem and the proper drainage areas around the firewall?? SOLUTIONS?? ----Im getting some great info from you guys on this BBS, thanks! J

I had the same problem. Greatly reduced when I replaced the cowl bead seals. The final fix was replacing the windshield seal.

Do you have any gaps on the top corners of your windshield seal. If so, you've got water entering there. Fix is to take something with a similar radius as the alum gasket frame add tap it outward using a rubber mallet to close the gap. (I used a rubber coated tape measure.) This stopped my leaks.

I had the same problem in the same places and spent a lot of time in the trunk and fixing anything that could be causing the leak and never found it...until I forced water on to the bottom corner of the windshield on the passenger side and found that the windshield seal leaked even though it was replaced 4 months earlier.
I used black silicone auto sealant under the outside of the windshield seal. I pried it up with a sharpened chopstick and forced the sealant under the seal all along the left corner for a foot each way...NO LEAKS now!

Here is a thread that may lead you to some possible problem areas for leaks.
Fresh Air Blower leaks water...Fix?

Good luck!

This is what I found, after searching on many days (in the rain) to see the flowing water. Of course, I got all wet.
while it raining, I took the car out, drove, came back, took off the cruve panel and all carpet. First thing I saw was water dripping down through the heater hose's hole, the hole from the trunk to the kick panel area. It is dripping along the heater hose. Please bare with me, I call it heater hose but I am not very sure it is for heat. It is the big hose going vertical.
Now, how the the water got in the trunk? After many sealing, silicone everywhere, and after many times I decided to give up. Fianlly one day, I could take it any longer, under the rain again, I pop the front hood to check again. This time, I saw the trunk weather strip seal was wet at the corner only. Following the wet trail, the water comes into right at the hose and was dripping down.
Problem found, now I need to get new gasket seal.
