Carbonetic LSD?

Anybody have any experience with these? Just curious since the technology seems to far surpass the traditional friction plate LSD materials

I've only had experience with Carbonetic's products with an acura integra Type R track car as well as on a Honda s2000, various clutch compnents and a final drive unit respectively. Their parts are indeed unique and as far as I can tell are highly regarded.

I'd suggest checking out this Carbonetic list of threads and see what conclusions you can come to.

That's certainly debatable. The "carbon" friction discs found in all street 993 LSDs will last perhaps 5,000 street miles or a single race weekend. Plasma-sprayed friction discs (as used by Porsche) last 10-20 times as long.

What I see in this "new unit" is an iteration of the Chinese-made Kaaz LSD, which has proven to be pretty worthless on the track.

I was hoping you'd chime in Paul. I'm quite leary about anything that supposedly outlasts the current tried and true stuff. Plus the imprecise looking friction plates seem suspect even to me, an uninformed boob
