Best way to strip chromed Fuchs?

Have a pair of 16x9 Fuchs that have been track wheels. PO had chromed them and when I bought them the chrome was already starting to peel. And recommendations on the best way to strip the chrome? Media blast or mild chemical stripping? Thanks

Use the "search this forum" feature in the upper right of the page.
I typed in "chrome stripping", here's one thread, not great news.

I've had Ye Olde Wheel in MD strip and refinish (not replate) Porsche cast wheels in the past. Just looking for aother thoughts on the feasibility of doing this. I'll probably make them my street wheels when all done. Thanks for the link, I was searching for Fuchs chrome.

i had a local chrome shop remove the chrome from some 9" RUFs. basically the process is to reverse the plating process, using the wheel as the donor anode. looks like it was rough glass beaded now. i had the lips machined and will repaint the centers.

The wheels they did weren't Fuchs, but were cast '88 944TS wheels. They stripped and polished the wheels and they looked great. But that was probably 10 years ago.
