Basic fuse box info on 911SC
I have an extremely basic question but I've searched the forum here and can't seem to find an answer. I have a 1981 SC and I'd like to try replacing the fuse to see if that is the reason my fog lights won't work (I've already tried replacing the bulbs).
I found this diagram already posted: http://pelicanparts.com/911/911_Parts/Electrical/911_electrical_82SC_fog.jpg I'm sure that is probably enough for most people, but I'm afraid I look at this diagram and have no idea which fuse is which when I look at the box. Is there a picture or basic info on which fuse is which and the basics of how to replace a fuse? |
Just looked at my 1983 cab fuse box cover & it shows the fuse the furthest forward is for the fog lights.

Thanks!

Mine is also the fuse furthest forward. Also, the fog lights don't work if the headlights are not on and the ignition is not on.
My fog light fuse tends to blow frequently for no apparent reason ... so I have an intermittent short to chase down someday. |
does anyone know what size buss fuse goes in their?,if you look at the plastic fuse cover it shows which fuse powers what

I recommend the Bentley SC Repair Manual, lot's of good info. The plastic cover on the fuse box has a listing inside; 16A fuse. To avoid corrosion of the fuses, use the special electrical lube that comes in a spray can. Keep in mind that the fog lights only work with head lights and ignition on. The fog lights also have a relay (The second one from the front) and they switch on and off automatically between HI/LOW beam. |
thank you very much gunter
