I have my interior in a million bits in the driveway of my house !
I'm trying to fit a new centre console carpet and am 90% there. My problem is that I can't get at the switches in the centre console to unplug them and feed them through the hole in the carpet ! Can anyone tell me how to remove the little panel that houses the heated rear window switch and the hazard warning switch so I can unplug them ?? thanks very much. ------------------ Steve '86 911 Carrera '83 944 |

Sure. There's two screws on either side of the console. Remove all four and you can remove that trim panel. Then, there's a screw on either side that holds the console down - and a screw all the way in back at the rear seat end of the console, buried under the carpet.
Once you remove all those, you can at least move it around. Instead of removing connectors from the switches, I found where those wires went under the carpet on the passenger side - and found there were connectors aplenty in there. Disconencting all of those left me with a console I could move to the driver's side, at least - there was one bundle of wires I couldn't disconnect. But I was able to remove carpet, etc. ------------------ Mark Szabo 1986 911 Targa 3.2 1987 Escort 5-speed 1.9 RIP The Porsche Owners Gallery |
