1982 SC Weinrotmetallic

I just got it a few weeks ago, 63k original miles, flew to San Jose and drove it home. It's my second 911. It seems quicker than my 84 Carrera that I sold. I have H4's on order that will be installed by this weekend. I've already put a new starter in, but I still have some ignition problems. I'll try the switch next and see if that fixes it. I also need to adjust the hood.

Nice colour, nice car. Funny that you mention that it seems faster than your Carrera, I've noticed that once a car is this age, they all drive different and a "faster" car might in fact be slower at with age...

Thanks. I noticed them immediatley when I found the car online. I always wanted them for my Carrera, but couldn't find a decent pair at a good price. Any idea what might be making my starter/ignition switch act up? I've changed the starter and checked the battery and connections.

Nice ride!

Can you post a close-up of a panel on your car or the inside of the hood. I am trying to find out exactly what color my '82 was once upon a time... it has been 2 repaints... rather 2 fuch-ups... I'm trying top decide if I should do a total color change or stick with the original color.

Congrats. My 81 was that color. It is an amazing color, changes in different light. Sometimes has purple in it, sometimes looks like copper. I loved it.

Awesome color combo. You might want to add a the front spoiler (pelican sells it) to balance out with the turbo tail.

Great looking car. Here's a good place to start with your ignition troubles. There is a wealth of excellent technical articles on this board. Also buy a copy of "101 Projects for your 911".

Hi Michael, here is a close up of the paint code sticker, and of course the surrounding paint. I tried to get the best light I could. I hope this helps.

Drove home to where? 100 miles or 1000 miles?

If you put your location in your signature, you might connect with others in your area.

Great looking car. Very refreshing alternative to Guards Red. I also bought a car w/ 7 & 8 x 16's. Look great.

Did you say guards Red? Here is my old GR Carrera. I like the new color better.
