Review: Low Voltage Relay Kit (starter)
I am posting this to give a positive review for a part I bought from our host.
From time to time, and after I put a brand new battery in my 79 SC, I was experiencing "less than optimum" starter / solenoid issues. I had almost decided that I would have to go through the regular routine of checking alternator, voltage regulator, ignition switch, wires, solenoid, starter and maybe even wear on the ring gear. The way it was sounding was "soft" (not the best word, but comes to mind). I was looking at our host's website to order some parts for my Targa top. I gleaned the electrical / starting parts so that I would be prepared for a potential upcoming "sticker shock" purchase. In doing so, I ran across the very inexpensive "Low Voltage Relay Kit". The part is actually listed as "BOS-WR1 Hot Start Relay Kit" on the parts website and I bought it at $19.85. It took an hour and 15 minutes to put it on properly. I have been driving the car all day and, through a dozen or so starts, it sounds like a brand new starting system every time. I can't believe the results. I thought I would pass it on, having done the troubleshoot process on Porsches and other cars over the years. It is the best $19.85 I have spent in a while... ![]()

Can you give an overview of the kit and the function it provides?
