Questions on installing aftermarket spoiler/bumpers.
I recently bought RSR bumpers for my 74 carrera, the car is too good to chop up for flares and wide RSR bumpers so I settled for narrow front Sc rear which is the standard for the Carrera.
I bought carbon fiber, the fit is quite good (Gettydesign) and I hope to install them in a couple days. Later on they go off again to be painted. Have a few questions.. Most all pix of RSR fronts indicate the front bumper covering strip is not being used, but is there any common knowledge on other trim rubber being installed at this location? Front bumper end seals.. use or no use? I was thinking about using some sort of seal between the fenders and the spoiler, else it could be nice to make a 1-2 mm gap between the fender-spolier with shims and no seals.. I have more or less the same questions on the rear bumper.... ![]() I removed the original brackets, I suppose the fiber parts dont play good with these so I plan on using a few flat aluminum fixtures for this.. anyone could point me in the right direction or a thread here on the forum.. ? Photos to follow tomorrow... Thanks!

I put Gettys front and rear on my '83 SC and simply used some stainless-steel washers as shims, in the manner you're suggesting, and was able to retain some of the rear rubber seal but nothing up front. The front bumper end seals are of no use.
Basically, I just took off all of the stock stuff that would be replaced by the FRP and intuited it from there as I went along. It's not hard, and the Getty stuff fits superbly.
