3.2 header diameter

I'm putting a 87 3.2 in my 914 project. The motor has 63k and is stock. I plan on chipping it. The car is only tracked about 3 days a year. It mostly lives on the street. I wasn't sure on the 1 5/8 or 1 3/4 tube diameter. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

1 5/8" headers is the correct size for a 3.2 with maximum output in mind.

1 3/4" is far too large unless its a full race powerplant.
